 Admission Requirements Program Structure Courses Registration

In the Office Career Training Certificate program, participants learn the skills required in a dynamic office environment. The program motivates learners to develop their fundamental business knowledge and computer skills while enhancing customer service, time management, and critical thinking skills.
Program graduates will increase their office administrative competency and will be able to perform various tasks efficiently and professionally.
This program is ideal for current administrative assistants who wish to develop their organizational skills further and work as office support staff.

 

Admission Requirements

Students must be 18 years of age or older to enroll in Keyano College Continuing Education courses.

There is no admission requirement/application process to start a non-credit certificate program.

 

Program Structure

Keyano is pleased to offer companies and organizations a private, customized delivery of the Office Career Training program. With a minimum of 10 participants, the majority of the courses can be delivered online, in-person or hybrid, with a flexible schedule to meet operational needs. Courses

Courses may be completed individually, or complete the seven required courses to achieve your Office Career Training certificate.  

Business Manners & Etiquette (CEOCT500)

7 Hours

Students will learn the soft skills necessary to create, strengthen, and maintain a positive impression. Regardless of workplace formalities, employees are required to be high self-monitors and conduct themselves accordingly. Students will learn how to effectively leverage their situational awareness skills to become effective organizational ambassadors. 

Office Procedures (CEOCT200) 

21 hours

This course explores introductory office procedures and protocols required to strengthen administrative support functions. Students will learn how to effectively accomplish practical administrative tasks such as meeting minute-taking, event management, booking travel arrangements, and filing while learning specific processes for each.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to respond to dynamic workplace requests in a timely and professional manner while completing office procedures necessary to support daily business activities. 

Customer Service (CEOCT300) 

14 hours

It is inevitable that the success or failure of any organization depends on customer service excellence. This course explores the fundamentals of customer service within the context of a competitive global business environment, including best practices of ethical customer service relations and cultural protocols.

Time Management and Decision Making (CEOCT400)

7 hours

This course is designed to help individuals who struggle with trying to improve their productivity and prioritize tasks based on their nature. Time management is often a challenge, and we get overwhelmed with all our priorities and tasks. Furthermore, some of us procrastinate while others make quick decisions based purely on emotion. Let us learn to practice a clear approach to sharpen our analytical thinking while recognizing and removing our emotional and personal biases. 

Microsoft 365 Excel (CEOCT700)

14 hours, $429

Microsoft 365 Excel is an easy-to-use spreadsheet program, which provides you with an extensive set of tools to organize, analyze, present, and store data. This course is intended to help all novice computer users get up to speed with Excel quickly. We will cover different features including creating a new spreadsheet, working with basic formulas and functions, making a spreadsheet look professional and presentable, and saving and printing a spreadsheet.

Microsoft 365 Word (CEOCT600)

14 hours

This course is intended to help all novice computer users get up to speed with Word quickly. We will cover different features of the interface, show users how to create a basic document and introduce users to Word’s most important tools. By the end of this course, students should be comfortable with creating, saving, and sharing a new document. Students will also become familiar with using and customizing the Microsoft Word interface.

Microsoft 365 Outlook (CEOCT800)

14 hours

Microsoft 365 Outlook incorporates some new features that will help make managing your email and personal information easier than ever. This course will help students get comfortable with using and customizing the Microsoft 365 interface, creating and sending messages, managing contacts, using the calendar, managing tasks, and working with notes.
