YOUTH PROGRAMS

 

Teen Weight Trainers

This program introduces youth (teens), ages 13-15 to the foundations of weight training including machines, free weights and weight room etiquette. Graduates gain confidence and understanding of weight lifting. This is a prerequisite to use the Long Boat Landing Fitness Centre. Teens working out in the fitness centre must keep his/her TWT ID card on hand at all times.

If you want a class that is designed for you to come in and get a great kick-start in your fitness regime, then this is for you. During the sessions you will combine core, plyometrics, endurance, cardio, power and flexibility training to unleash your journey to help you reach your fitness goals.

Spinergize

A cycling class for all fitness levels! Climbing, sprinting, intervals and endurance training are incorporated to improve your fitness level and complete your cycling skill set.

Executive Express

Your boss will approve of this 40-minute lunchtime regimen that has you back at your desk in under an hour. These sessions provide a full body workout including cardio, strength, and stretching. You will feel refreshed and ready to take on the rest of your day after this great workout!

Toned

This strength and muscular endurance class will work toward a more balanced, stronger, taller you.  Exercises will be based to improve muscular endurance, strength and balance.   There is no cardio component to this class.

Kickin' It Up

You'll have serious adrenaline flowing with punching, kicking and footwork drills all wrapped up in an awesome cardio workout.  heart pumping tunes will motivate you to work harder and you will ride the wave of the group's energy.

Zumba®

Zumba® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavour and some international zest and you’ve got Zumba! Crunch 'N Punch

If you ever wondered how boxers get into great shape, this class will show you how.  This class is a total body workout that involves NO PUNCHING AND NO CONTACT WITH OTHERS.  Armed with Wave Masters and Pads, you'll be taken on a series of intense punching drills guaranteed to tone up those arms and shoulders.  If you think it's all upper body- think again.  Our instructors will target those legs and abs throughout the hour long, 1000 calorie-an-hour burning training session to ensure an over-all body work-out that's second to none! Participants must purchase own gloves.

Hottie Body

Ready to take your fitness into your own hands? This class will take you through some circuits that will help you burn calories and gain lean muscle mass. With combinations of aerobic and anaerobic intervals this class will help you get that hottie body you have always desired!

Athletic movements are set to music, creating a fun and effective way to cardio train and strengthen the lower body all within a group environment.

Spin Me Right Round

Out Door Boot Camp

All activites are held outdoors in areas near the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre.  Whether you are an 'avid exerciser', 'planning for a wedding', or 'shaping yourself up to have a beach body' this class has something to offer everyone.  Meeting point will be at the SSWC entrance, please ensure If you are dropping in that you have your drop in tag ready to go at 5pm sharp at the meeting point. 

 

classes will take place indoors in the case of lightning! Please dress appropriately and bring your insect repellant, and sunscreen.
