Exercise Theory
This course is required before you specialize in one of the other leadership courses (resistance training, older adult, aquatic or group fitness specialties). Topics include principles of conditioning, basic nutrition, weight control, movement mechanics, program planning, monitoring progress, safety tips and much more!

Resistance Training
(Pre-requisite AFLCA Exercise Theory)
Become a certified fitness leader! This course is excellent for the experienced or inexperienced fitness enthusiast who wishes to learn more about the science behind their workout. The program includes information on program planning and design, physiological considerations, principles of strength training and leadership, safety, training methods and equipment.

Group Fitness Fundamentals
Portable Equipment Designation
(Pre-Requisite: Exercise Theory)
This 20 hour course certifies you to become a group fitness instructor. Topics covered include leadership trends, media, class components, music, movement and cuing, exercise analysis, accountability and legal responsibility. The portable equipment designation covers topics specific to leading group fitness classes using equipment such as free weights, body bars, stability balls, resistance tubing, BOSU, steps, foam rollers and more.

AFLCA STEP designation

Spin classes continue to be a very popular workout. As an instructor you can push your participants to their limits and see gains to strength and endurance. Learn how to become a spin instructor and be able to push your participants, as well as yourself, to the next level!

AFLCA Pre/Post Natal Educational Course
Become a certified fitness leader for mom's and mom-to-be's. This course will provide you with the knowledge to teach group fitness courses for pregnant and new moms – or learn how to give yourself a great workout! This course is open to the general public as well as AFLCA leaders.

AFLCA Butts & Guts Educational Course
Learn the ins and outs of your butt and gut! Become knowledgeable about proper movements, techniques and how you can get the most out of your workouts! Expand your knowledge as an instructor or as a workout enthusiast!
