Drama

Program Description

Keyano College's conservatory style Drama program is designed to develop the skills essential for success in the performing arts and related careers.  Whether you want to be an actor, director, playwright, drama teacher, researchers or arts administrtor, this two year program will give you the strong foundation you need.

You have a passion for acting; you have the talent and the drive to succeed; all you  need is training.  Pursue your passion with Keyano College's Drama Program.  Action, intensity, hands-on experience, and practical application:  these are the core features of our Drama Program.  Classes are small - a maximum of 16 aspiring actors are accepted into the first year of the Program, and instructors are working theatre professionals.  Award-winning guest directors, designers and choreographers supplement regular classroom instruction.

You'll be immersed in performance-oriented classes in acting technique, voice, speech and dialects, singing, movement, text analysis, theatre history, and collective creation, all leading to live performance on Keyano's stage.  As a Drama student, you'll study and work in state-of-the-art facilities including the 200-seat Recital Theatre and the 600-seat Keyano Theatre.

Keyano Theatre is a community facility run by a professional staff which hosts four main stage and two studio productions each year.  It is estimated that our theatres attract a total yearly audience of 10,000.  As a Drama student you will be expected to participate in a minimum of three shows during the two-year Program.
