Bachelor of Education - Five Year Combined Degree

Program Description

Students interested in the Five -Year Combined Bachelor of Education program take the first 30 credits of courses which can be transferred to University of Lethbridge towards a Five -Year Combined Bachelor of Education Degree. A Bachelor of Education degree prepares students to teach all subjects and to facilitate the learning of children at the elementary school level within our diverse classrooms and multicultural communities. Teaching expertise depends on a range of knowledge, skills and attitudes.  Students must have knowledge of subject matter, pedagogy, problem solving skills and professional ethics as they prepare to be reflective practitioners. They must also reflect respect for children as part of the community of learners. Students develop these as they articulate and refine a personal philosophy of education. They develop the understanding of schooling in the social, political and economic environments with a strong commitment to the teaching profession.

Because of the variety of different combinations for this degree program, it is recommended that students refer to the University of Lethbridge Calendar and consult with a Student Advisor at Keyano College. Students completing a combined degree through the U of L take two majors, one major for each degree.
