OSSA

Program Description

OSSA Regional Orientation is approximately 30 minutes in duration.

Upon completion of the OSSA Regional Orientation Program a worker will be able to present their credential to any of the Oil Sands Safety Association Owner Member sites (Albian Sands Energy Inc., Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., Suncor Energy Inc., and Syncrude Canada Ltd.) as proof of completing the required site access orientation.

Learning Objectives:
•        Orientation is a general awareness of critical job safety
        factors found on all sites.
•        Hazards may be different depending on the job or work
•        areas.
•        Specialized training such as fall protection, confined space
entry, or respiratory protective equipment, may be required.

As of April 01, 2006, the OSSA Regional Orientation Program is the only accepted site access orientation for new workers. This content replaces the previous “Welcome to the Oil Sands” orientation package, which is no longer available or recognized.

As of April 01, 2006, all Contractors are required to deliver the OSSA Regional Orientation Program to their new employees.
