Largest Keyano Career Fair leaves lasting impressions
From a company that hired 50 people to successful job seekers from Ontario – Keyano’s Career Fair wrapped up with many success stories and an estimated 3000 visitors.
The event was held in the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre on February 10 and 11 with over 50 employers in attendance from across the country.

Candice Crossley, Career & Cooperative Education Coordinator, Keyano College, oversaw the event and dubbed it an “amazing success.”
“We had many people starting their new careers on Monday morning. I received lots of compliments from exhibitors; they can’t wait to come back next year,” said Crossley.
Alanna Bottrell, Marketing Coordinator, Continuing Education & Corporate Training, Keyano College also coordinated the event. She said the feedback from everyone spoke to the significance of the Career Fair.
“The feedback from the exhibitors has been extremely positive. A few attendees had actually flown in from Ontario – for the sole purpose of attending the Career Fair. This speaks volumes of the faith that people have in the oil sands job market. I was pleased to learn that people got offers and will be moving their families to Fort McMurray in the near future,” said Bottrell.
The first day of the event also hosted local high schoolers exclusively, who got the chance to get to know Keyano in depth.
“We had about 200 students visit in the morning. They had a chance to check out Keyano booths, investigate summer employment opportunities, and get some ideas for their future,” added Bottrell.
