Sponsorship Opportunities About the event Our Reach Buy Tickets Photos of Past Galas
The Keyano College Gala started in 1981 and remains one of Fort McMurray’s most-anticipated events. For 43 years, guests have come together in support of the college and to celebrate the spirit of education over an evening of philanthropy, friendship, music and food. The money raised through the Keyano College Gala is reinvested to provide further support towards academics, athletics, theatre, trades programs, and capital improvements that make an impact on students’ lives.
The 2024 Keyano Gala will draw inspiration from Canada's natural wonders and include performances from Canadian rock supergroup The TransCanada Highwaymen and the award-winning Alberta Celtic rock group, the Derina Harvey Band. Join over 900 guests at the region’s signature black-tie event and enjoy refreshing drinks, incredible food, and great entertainment inspired by our home.

The Trans-Canada Highwaymen
The Trans-Canada Highwaymen (TCH) is a super group (your words - not mine) consisting of Moe Berg (The Pursuit of Happiness), Chris Murphy (Sloan), Craig Northey (Odds) and Steven Page (Formerly of Barenaked Ladies). Four guys who have known each other for (ahem) decades now all of whom have written songs that have contributed to Canadian culture.
The TCH live show will include songs from Explosive Hits Vol. 1 but the emphasis of the TCH live show will still be the songs these guys have written.
Don’t worry, you’ll still hear Moe sing "I’m An Adult Now", "Hard to Laugh" and "She's So Young". You’ll still hear Chris sing “Underwhelmed", "The Other Man" and "The Rest of My Life". You’ll still hear Craig sing "It Falls Apart", "Someone Who's Cool" and "Make You Mad". You’ll still hear Steven sing "The Old Apartment", "Brian Wilson" and “Jane".
The Derina Harvey Band
Derina Harvey leads the award-winning Celtic Rock sensation, the Derina Harvey Band (dHb). Derina’s vibrant personality takes center stage with humor, storytelling, and, of course, her world class vocals, with a show that offers fresh takes on traditional folk songs as well as original material.
The Derina Harvey Band has been likened to a “rockier” version of Canada’s Great Big Sea, if fronted by Adele, and has earned a reputation as a high-energy live show that leaves many an audience out-of-breath and hollering from their seats!
