Buy a 14 oz. coffee mug at King's Lounge and get free coffee or pop for the first week of classes. After that, refills are a bargain all year long.
Lockers
Beat the rush and rent your locker at the SAKC office before Orientation Day. The cost is $10/year with a $5 refund at the end of the year.
Used Books
Save cash...buy used books in the SAKC Used Bookstore. You can also sell your books from last year on consignment.
Health and Dental Plan
The Student Association is now providing an extended Health and Dental plan to eligible students. While this plan is a mandatory plan, students covered by alternate plans (through parents, work or spouses) may opt out by completing the required waiver form and providing proof of alternate coverage. Students on the plan may also purchase coverage for a spouse and/or dependants.
Rings
Twice a year students have the opportunity to order graduation rings. Posters will be posted.
Awards - Bursaries
All Keyano students have an equal opportunity to receive Student Association Awards and Bursaries. Yu just have to demonstrate financial need, leadership, involvement and commitment not only within the classroom but also within extra-circular activities. The Students' Association sponsors over $5,000.00 in awards to students each year. The awards are published in the Students Awards Handbook.
Student Connection Newspaper
This is your chance to voice any opinions, address issues, concerns and achievements you may have of the student body; or if you just like to write. This is your voice in the school. The Communications Standing Committee meets once a week and has openings in the following positions:
- Editors
- Writers
- Photographers Graphic Design
- Printing/Distributing
If you are interested in being a part of the Student Association Communications Standing Committee, contact your communications Vice President in the Student Association Office (Used Bookstore) or email communicationvp.kcsa@keyano.ca. You can also ask any one of the executives you will most likely find in the King's Lounge, where it's always happening!
Student Recognition Night
The Student's Association hosts Student Recognition Night in the spring of each year. This is a semi-formal dinner followed by awards. Attendees include General Council members, staff of the King's Lounge and special guests invited by the SAKC. A great initiative to join and get involved in student activities.
