Ms. Donovan, a specialist in earned value management, will highlight best practices using earned value while explaining when, how and why this discipline is applied. You will learn how 32 EVM criteria are classified into five logical groups, their purposes and how these criteria can highlight problems within the organization itself. From a Project Management perspective, she will show the evolution of Earned Value Management and provide an overview of how earned value can be achieved in ten steps. (1 Day)
CORNERSTONE FOR WORKFACE PLANNING
Facilitated by Geoff Ryan, P.M.P.
Designed for Owners, Engineering, Procurement or Construction management teams who want to implement Workface Planning.
Workface Planning is a system that enables dedicated construction planners to produce detailed construction plans that are free of constraints. This process was researched and developed in Alberta (2001-2005) and has been identified as an industry best practice by the Construction Owner Association of Alberta (COAA) and by the Construction Industry Institute (CII). The process is now being applied on mega projects across North America, Asia, the Middle East and Australia.
Workface Planning optimizes project performance and delivers predictable results in construction productivity, quality and safety through the sequential execution of the project schedule. Upon completion of this seminar, participants can expect to understand the Why, What and How of Workface Planning by participating in classroom simulations and through a detailed review of a standard execution procedure. (1 Day)
