Death and taxes may be certain - but taxes don't have to feel deathly, especially when you have Kevin Cork helping you out.
The financial guru will be hosting a day-long workshop entitled Financial Planning for Anyone Who Hates Planning their Finances, to be held in Rm. 224 - in the Clearwater Campus, on Saturday, February 6; participants can look forward to specific ideas on how to get their finances in order.
"People with no, or little interest in financial planning will leave the workshop with four, or five precise tips, which will help them," said Cork, during a phone interview from Calgary.
"The basic philosophy is to squeeze the most juice out of your dollars, so you can give minimum time to planning your RRSP, or your child's education fund, and then go back to watching the Golden Globes," he added.
That's his trademark humorous and dynamic style, which participants will be treated to, meaning the workshop will be held in a light atmosphere.
Cork, CFP, is President of TheAbsoluteGroup.com and has 18 years financial planning experience. He has appeared on CBC Newsworld, A-Channel, ROB TV, Global, CTV, QR77, TVOntario, CityTV, and Canada Learning Television.
Participants will leave the workshop with Cork's national bestseller The Money Book accompanied by The Investment Book, and "at least six quick tricks to save, invest, spend or insure wisely. The presentation will be broken up with time for questions and comments, debates and name calling," says Cork.
Sarah Imran, Coordinator, Workforce Development, Keyano College, is overseeing the workshop. The excitement to host Cork is palpable, she says.
"No matter how complex the financial topic or issue is, he has a talent to get his audience to understand. Our participants will have an opportunity to get straight answers from an established expert - we all have financial questions. It's a good way to get an unbiased opinion, without sales pressure," Imran explained.
The workshop runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
