University Studies announces winners of the second annual essay contest

Jessica Weber, Rebecca Latimer, and Jenna Hutchen have fifteen hundred reasons to be happy. The primary one being they won the second annual essay contest hosted by the University Studies department at Keyano College, thanks to a $1500 scholarship established specifically for this purpose. Weber, Latimer and Hutchen - won first, second and third place respectively. Keyano College opened Aboriginal Awareness Day on March 2 with standing room only in the Doug Schmit Lecture Theatre. The theme this year was KisKinaMasototak - Let us learn from one another. Elsie Yanik blessed the event, which saw a plethora of activities across the College from workshops to Inuit games, to lessons in Métis dance, complete with a stunning evening performance of Raven Stole the Sun on the Keyano Theatre mainstage.
