The Writing Centre offers one hour workshops divided into 3 parts:

  1. 20 minutes of presentation,
  2. 20 minutes of application,
  3. 20 minutes of individualized assistance.

Referencing and the Academic Paper

How to avoid plagiarism

An integral part of any writing, knowing about plagiarism (and more specifically, how to avoid it), this workshop will deal with the important skills of quoting, summarizing and paraphrasing.

How to effectively reference

In addition to effective examples of referencing, emphasis will be placed on MLA and APA reference styles in this workshop.

Writing Style

Designed around the needs of the audience. This series focuses on grammatical issues faced by students with basic, intermediate, and advanced language skills. Participants are asked to bring examples of their writing or current assignment rough drafts. Main topics may include basics for ESL learners, intermediate support and advanced feedback.
